There are approximately 114 minutes left of 2008 as I type this entry from the East Coast of the US of A.
Just think - it is already 2009 in Australia and in just 12 (or 14...or 13????) days, I will be there.
Starting my degree of film.
At college.
At Bond Uni.
In Queensland.
Australia.
It's so insane. A year ago, I had never heard of BU. A year ago I was planning on getting a bachelor's of philosophy via correspondence education from the University of London, or perhaps a degree in criminal justice (I still want to do the whole private eye thing some day - or even be a lawyer) or maybe even just study astrology (how I love horoscopes and fortune-telling).
I had no intentions of taking my SATS. But then I did. And I did marvelously on them, if I do say so myself. I applied to Bond and I got accepted. And now I'm off to study in a far-off land. Living the dream. How amazing is that?
Soon I will have my going-away party. Then my 18.5 birthday. Then my last dental appointment. And then I fly off from Boston to San Francisco, to Sydney, to the Gold Coast. To my paid-for meal plan. To my paid-for room. To meet my mystery roomie (he'd better be nice!). To study with my student visa computers, communication, editing, and lighting. I'll have to get converter plugs. I'll have to buy my books yet. I still have to book a transfer and pack my bags. But I'm going.
And I can't wait.
Except that I'm gonna miss my dog and American TV (or telly, I should say?) like MAD!
